Well I thought I'd post this here as I couldn't find an appropriate category, maybe there needs to be a "General" or "Odds and ends" category but here goes.
I'm interested all things Adelaide and in particular, starting up a business.
I keep being told by some that it's a hard city to get accepted in if you are an outsider and that it's a parochial environment, but Im thinking that if I do a good job things should be fine.
Am I fighting the status quo or is there a future and opportunity in Adelaide for small business person.

If you're doing a good job can't see why you would have problems.
    What sort of business?

Not knowing what tennis is like in SA but.
If you're good they will follow but will take a bit of time.
I have a client who's a sporting coach, he's very much on the outer with the SA sport / SASI
But very well followed and respected by everyone else.

I've moved the thread to Small Business. In Politics there will be people who can't respond.

I am working with a 27 year old from Canada. Great lady, very friendly. She recently spent a year backpacking around Australia and working. She said the only place she really didn't feel safe was Adelaide.

Did she elaborate on why she felt that Adelaide was unsafe?

Was she in Elizabeth or something?
Never known anyone to feel unsafe (except maybe when wearing the away team's colours at the AFL :p)

Haha pretty broad comment. Suburb and time of day would have a fair amount to do with that.
