    Are these birds or planes?

Feel free to post videos here. Ideally keep this thread to aircraft that successfully land.

My favourite landing was by Captain Cool Sully Sullenberger who lost both engines on take off and set the plane down safely in the Hudson River:

If I was in one of those planes as they landed I'd be hoping they keep a spare pair of undies next to the air sickness bag lol.

I've been on a couple of flights where the plane has touched the ground but taken off again and had another try - during storms IIRC. I'd rather that than the alternative. I've also been on a flight that landed where it took off after flying around for 6 hours due to an air traffic controller strike.

We put the boat in on the Barron River a couple of weeks ago and there's one section of the river that's just before the runway at the airport. It was awesome watching the planes land overhead. Felt like I could reach up and touch the bottom of the plane. Need to go back during the day now!

With those rough plane landigs I would have put them over my head!

I've flown into and out of Lukla airport in Nepal. An interesting experience since the approach up the valley is virtually perpendicular to the runway and hence you do a sharp turn.

The runway itself is at a 23 degree slope. A few planes have hit the wall at the end.

    Both flights were smooth.

For the flight out to Kathmandu there is only a short window to approx 10:30 in the morning. Issues with fog mean that people can be waiting up to a week to fly out. My group was lucky and the fog lifted just in time.

As an Air Traffic Controller I can safely say that nothing in Australia rivals approaches into Hong Kong or Queenstown for example
