No different to a free property night with an offer at the end. A lot of service based businesses do this.

Its really interesting have a girlfriend who did Landmark about 3 times, she said it changed her life.

From my limited understanding on what they are teaching sounds brilliant

One thing I have noticed is it may be helpful today but unless you practice what you learn it may very well be short lived just my opinion from my own experience.

id like to thin k im open minded, but if you behave like a cult, you are a cult, even if they dont take you away from your fmaily, a lot of the strategies to get people in are cult like,

if the program was so damn good, it would sell essentially for the most part, or there would be other ways to get people in

    my opinion

In some cities you need to book in months in advance as it fills very quickly. I think that's a good indication of it's popularity.

@TMNT what is your definition of cult and cult like strategies?

@MTR you definitely need to apply the teachings otherwise you slip back into old habits, people notice, then write the course off.

    recruiting strategies,
    bring a friend
not telling you what exactly its about
the people (staff and former/existing clients) use very common words assoicated with cults and MLM
being vague about questions, and recommending you just go and find out

    etc etc etc

    I'd consider all that marketing.

I'd consider a cult to be hardcore brainwashing and abuse.

If someone wants me to check something out that they're excited about, good on them, I'm glad they've found something to be passionate about. I hardly view it as a negative.

I guess every techniguque could be classiified as marketing,
similar talk used in MLM and amway type business,

the words "business" "business person" "residual income" get used a lot to recruit, all while not telling people what its about

Agreed. And for MLM it's a technique that works best. Let the system do the talking, not the affiliate (they have a better chance at F'ing the deal up).

LM is a bit different though as the only benefit is that their friends and family may see the world through the LM graduate's perspective. There is no financial gain from having your friends sign up.
