Fantastic! Love the house and the changes are brilliant. Well done getting into a good area. Long live the motto: worst house in the best street.
Am impressed with how you've managed to get the work done so quickly.

Have a builder but wish i took it all on! Could have been done a bit quicker and possibly less stressful, or a different type of stress anyway :p. But it is progressing well though just the usual builders promising more than they can deliver.
There's more then one way to skin a cat i guess!

I grew up in that area. It was a great place to live as a kid. We used to swim in the lagoon before they built the glenbrook pool.

An update.... we also have a magpie friend. Came in like he owned the place!
He went through the front door and was confused by the new layout. Then went all the way through to the kitchen and joined us for smoko. Surprisingly liked salt and vinegar chips!

Here's a small peak looking from dining room into the lounge and front door.
Painters have been smashing it out! A lot of people say diy the painting but when doing a whole house the pro's get it done so much quicker!! Gives me time to concentrate on the bits and pieces which is more cost effective. Plus we want to move in next week so gotta get it done! :D

We used 4 step in the dining. Didn't have time to shop around for cornice (plus budget) but feel it ties in with the original 50's cornice. Going to get masonite down tomorrow them flooring next week! That will totally change the house. ... oh and they'll throw some cladding on the front ;) .... ...more painting :(

Love it - I can't believe I hadn't seen this thread until now!

Great job with the conversion layout, very good use of space.

    And love the 4 step!

Yeah, love the 4 steps too. Does it 'relate' to any particular era?

Not to sure. Fairly modern but we'll call it a retro/ modern for this install ;)

If any one is on the area I'm still here working away. Safe to say the neighbours may not like me. I've done the fun jobs already - steam cleaned carpets and unblocked the sewer but will be painting for a couple more hours :)

Excellent time to think about making it a smart home. For way less than $200 you could really wire up your place and probably hook it up to google assistant/or any other assistants. Remote monitoring, smart lights, smart switches, smart gizmos. The only downside is - most of the smart stuff is all Chinese and not compliant to Australian standards.
