What's the haps on the GC ? Don't you love it now we are calling it the "GC" instead of the Goldy .
Been living on and off here/there for 4 years .
Looked at rather a few properties in the Broadbeach ,Mermaid and Surfers areas . Both units ( only walk ups ) and houses .
This was 18 months to 2 yrs ago.
Wasn't ready to buy at the time .
Agents kept saying a few years ago this place sold for almost twice this asking price .
I had no knowledge of the GC market. A few locals told me it is a rather a fickle place. It can go flying up and crashing down.
I couldn't feel confident because nobody I talked to was at this time.
Well! ZMG have prices gone up ! in particular houses.
Houses I looked at in Florida Gardens priced around $600,000-$700,000 are now $100,000 more min. That's a big jump in a year. Cheers

Hi. I've been posting about the Gold Coast in another thread.

Gold Coast Property News - official thread

Yes prices are rising. Gold Coast is in the early stages of what I believe will be a very sustained boom.

Going strong according to this thread:
    QLD - GC going strong!
But keep making new GC threads to try and take some of the attention off BNE ;)

    Thanks Big Max will do.
My concern with buying there now is has it already peaked because from a few places I have looked at lately the prices seem a bit too steep.
    I don't know GC previous patterns .
I have been told by some locals it has a tendency to dive rather fast .
Past performance not always an indicator .
I can't help but sense some panic buying.
My property is in nth NSW . It has peaked but still strong and looks like will be staying steady. Agent said some properties already might not achieve what they did 6 months ago.
The market here has done its rise for now.
I'm wondering why GC is any different ?

I think we are just in the early stages of what will be a sustained boom on the coast.

We are far from the panic "fear of missing out" buying phase. That will happen probably 2018-2020.

I'm staying in the canals at mermaid waters. Have to say the place seems pretty dead.
