Post all election up-to-date shenanigans as they unfold over the weekend and beyond until we have the result. Anything related to the election.

Hopefully the circus wont go on too long until we have a result.

Postal votes can be accepted and counted for 13 days after the election.

This could mean we are waiting... waiting... waiting.

Junior's first opportunity to vote in person since she turned 18 (council elections were via ivote) - so she's forcing me to join her in the queue "on the day" to she can experience the event.

I haven't voted "on the day" in person, for any election, for over a decade. Hoping the school has a cake stall

It's possible that up to 50% of votes will be early votes - postal and pre polling. With delays in the post these days, there could be a great many arriving late.

There's likely to be a lot of pressure on the voting, with changes being made to voting rules just today to allow people with COVID to vote. And between 10 to 15% of aec staff will be off work with Covid - although perhaps the high pre polling numbers will help to alleviate this.

If Libs pull out another unlikely victory....best to get a gaggle of psychologists ready to treat the cliff jumpers.

I was half considering voting Liberal but why would they put up a 15 year old as a candidate in my area?

They've put people that look like they're out of high school, and are real estate agents in training, throughout the Hunter/Newcastle area

Oh, it will take some time. Daughter & best friend are both working for the Election. Have been for a while now, and have another 3 weeks afterwards counting.
