I'm sure in the months between filming finishing and auction day a whole army of trades goes back through and tidy up the not so good rush jobs.

    Good read. Good old SS.

There is more building now rather than renovating. Surely Ch 9 has been roasted over this and now everything has to be "up to code" because of history? How far back was Bondi Block anyway. 14 years ago?

Bondi block was around 10+ years ago ... more like 15.

The older couple are really annoying and have no idea - yes - I know it's all about editing, but if you don't say it then they can't play it.

Loved the winning room this week

They seem to constantly have repeats of previous seasons on the free to air property channel.
Some of the couples are even more annoying the 2nd time.

Did anyone like the bathrooms? The one with the gold, silver and black fittings would have been quite nice if the fittings were all black instead of a mismatch of colours and materials.

Seriously the blonde chick would do so much better if she just tied up, gagged and hide the brunette in the cupboard for the duration.

Missing heaps of The Block because it clashes with better programs - Anh's brush with fame, who do you think you are et al

I think the brunette is talented as a stylist, but her indecisiveness wears a bit thin.. perhaps she could get her first design down on paper and then sit out the week (bound and gagged in a loonie ward) so the blonde girl can get the work done :p

    Well I wouldn't.
But there are some superfans out there.
Seems like something the novelty would wear off pretty quick.

Soooo what ever happens to the "phantom" appartment at the end of the series?

It gets quietly sold off market to cover production costs.

The sixth apartment in the High St, Prahran, block was a surprise renovation challenge for contestants in the final week of the season.

The show’s creative team, Watercress Productions, had owned the apartment but a source confirmed it was sold off-market recently. Sale details were a closely guarded secret.

Ok, well that's the theory. It might not be so simple in practice.

A challenge apartment that has snagged a couple a spot in The Block Triple Threats main renovation event struggled to find a buyer, selling after it passed in on just one genuine bid.

The vendor, well known buyers advocate Frank Valentic, who is also a judge on the upcoming episodes of The Block, was as shocked as his agent at the outcome.

I suspected as much. I just don't understand the need for the secrecy.

Years ago there were strong Rumours of a series on the Gold Coast. Reports that Producers quickly lost interest when the council told them bulding wirk had to be inspected to ensure it was legal, and all noise and road clearance laws had to be adhered to!
