Just found out my place in Melbourne is scheduled to auction at the exact same time as one of the block apartments. Probably won't make any difference but I feel annoyed anyway. Don't want my buyers sticky beaking at the block and forgetting to turn up for the auction ;)

I'm petty enough to get upset when someone on the Block does something that is an idea in my head still. Because then people will just think I got the ides off The Block.
    Sigh  #ultimatefirstworldproblem #brainideathieves

Never seen a single episode, like many others probably so don't think you have a problem.

Perthguy is your property also in South Yarra or surrounds and with 3 beds? If not then I wouldn't worry about it. Most of the people going to The Block auctions are just sticky beaking and not real buyers. Better to have only ten people show up at your auction, all of whom are real buyers than 10,000 people with only 2 real buyers!

As an aside if I were a buyer for an apartment at The Block there is no way in hell that I would attend! I'd get a friend or buyers agent to do my bidding. Surely others would feel that way too.

I think just about all the bidders are buyers agents ... they even have the buyers agents come thru for an "renovators advice" preview before the apartments are finished

They are the clever little things which go from fascia to wall under the roof and sometimes fall down causing death (brainy death eaves :p)

I agree - even with rentals professional photography makes a huge difference. We do this with some of our higher end rental properties and all sales off course.

My pet hate is when property managers take photos of corners of rooms and put them in an ad.

I've seen bugger all this year but I'm pretty sure he does. I liked when he tried to get the gyprock up with the crane but the scaffold was in the way, the plasterers wanted to push him off!

One year I'll fill out the application before I realised they've closed. But I'll need to take my 3yr old with me so she can show them how to work! Plus she'll be my "artist " for the high end "art "

I spoke to one of the buyers agents at the property expo last week and he said that he has less client interest this year as the block is on a very busy corner.

Well, my brilliant agency decided to list another very similar house, similar sized land a couple of blocks away on the same day as my auction at the exact same time. No competing agent has listed an auction for the same time in my area. No, it had to be from the agency I hired :(

Get them to reschedule the auction. Do they not do research?

They are from the same agency so it beats me if they talk to each other. I will be contacting my agent today to discuss.
