.....but this is not the same, and its not over till the fat lady sings. There was never a meeting with NK or an agreement regardless... and toughest sanctions by US to date and still in place.

So what now??... its like a chess game.

The options are not going to be good for NK and this region if Kim backs out of the agreement. I don't see US backing down, will they even get tougher with sanctions? No idea...

It's exactly the same. Kim something promises to be good and isn't. Two weeks latter and the USA discovers he's not. I'm not sure what some singing obese woman in New Jersey has to do with anything.

USA presidents have never met with the Kims for a reason. There were multiple agreements - all of them broken.

    Do you think Kim cares?

It's great for NK. Kim has established some legitimacy on the world stage. Putin wants to meet with him. Kim keeps his nukes and the USA/west are unwilling to take/destroy them by force.

There was never an agreement. One dum **** got screwed.

Shocking... honestly though, anyone who has seen anything of Trump in recent years, should have known his NK promises were nonsense. At best he blundered in there with his "I haven't even read Kim's letter" and promises to give up military exercises in exchange for nothing, with no checks and balances. All it did was legitimise Kim and make America look stupid.

Not really, no one was expecting what has been achieved to date.

This is in part why US have kept toughest sanctions in place, and it must be hurting NK. Whether he cares about his people starving is another issue for another day

Is this a set back, hiccup ??? Waiting for more updates

US wont be happy campers, problem is where from here???? I hope it does not go back to square 1, we dont want this, great concern

NK have stopped testing, but stock piling not good, am interested in how US deals with this scenario???

I still see US has the upper hand regardless....but moving forward its going to be the stick again

I've heard on one of the news channels that NK is still making nuclear weapons at the rate of one each seven days.

I thought it suspicious that when the journalists were invited to watch the test site be blown up, there were no official inspectors invited. And this was just the test site, which some reports say had been so damaged from testing that it was not able to be used again anyway.

Journalists were not allowed to go into the tunnels and it was also reported the explosives could have been just at the entrances, and therefore, the test site could be dug out again to clear the debris from the "show" explosions.

still to early, give it a year to see what the outcome is. Further from 38north.org website

Infrastructure Improvements at North Korea’s Yongbyon Nuclear Research Facility | 38 North: Informed Analysis of North Korea

Continued work at the Yongbyon facility should not be seen as having any relationship to North Korea’s pledge to denuclearize. The North’s nuclear cadre can be expected to proceed with business as usual until specific orders are issued from Pyongyang.

Another website with some good updates

    http://www.korea.net/Government/Current-Affairs/National-Affairs?affairId=656

Mike Pompeo is on his way to NK for further talks, i am sure more news updates will eventuate. Everyone still has a chance to say "i told you so"

    Here is another story
What now? Pompeo exits North Korea emptyhanded, leaving US with three options -- all of them bad

Where from here is the question? and what this means for the peninsular and us?? I am hoping they can resurrect talks some how?

    Interesting, but concerned

It's very concerning. But hardly surprising.
