    Hi Terry,
If you were to travel for the sole purpose of performing repairs on the property then travel can be claimed?

WoW, can't wait for 5 years to read them all. Any chance they can be bundled into one PDF or Word document? :)

Yes, i have them all saved in a word doc. Over the Christmas break I will edit them and put them into a PDF book.

Extracting additional equity from PPOR loan when the bank only allows one split which has already been used for investment purposes.
Ie: Whether there is a way to re- adjust your split amounts without mixing loans.

A simple strategy for this is to just change banks!

Is this thread similar to what you are wanting to know?
    One equity split, two properties?

    Step 1. 100k PPOR Mortgage
Step 2. 75k PPOR Mortgage / 25k Investment split (via split, paydown, redraw method).
Step 3. -> Wanting to get to 50k PPOR Mortgage / 50k Investment split

I can't get my head around how to achieve step 3 without being able to make a third sub account or mixing up loans.

I think changing banks might be the only option.

    Hi Grinners

There is no way to do this without either
    a) paying down the loan
    b) spliting the loan and then paying it down

The trouble with paying into a loan the second time is it reduces the non-deductible and deductible debt.

Older post but answer = No. Travel for any purpose is non deductible for resi property unless the taxpayer is excluded eg a company. Not a closely held trust.
