@fullylucky The only real way to find out for sure is to use CIA interrogation techniques until your terrorist admits they really are a terrorist. You might want to lay down some plastic sheeting....

I was joshing you a little bit before, fullylucky, but I agree with larrylarry and BigKahuna, you may have genuine cause for concern. Even if not a terrorist, could be something suss, not necessarily terrorism, could be a middleman for something nefarious nevertheless. Drugs come to mind, money counterfeiting, human trafficking, prostitution etc

    1. he's stated he's from a country that has sanctions
    2. He's sensitive about his luggage
    3. he wants a room far away from others even if it's an inferior room

You have some cause to be worried and cautious, I do admit

Water boarding isn't so bad, especially in the hot weather.
    They like it.

@Azazel but keel hauling is much more fun! And uses much less water (other than requiring a river/sea).

Without mentioning the country for No.1... I'll give you an example...

If I tell you and I look like I'm from a ISIL country BUT I show you a Japanese passport or a German passport. Would you think something is up?

Id be intrigued by an 'ISIL' looking person (btw, love that) with a Japanese passport not so much by a German passport :)

No... millions of people with middle east background have Western passports. Still I think you are taking the p*s with your original question (though a lot of people do have an irrational paranoia about terrorism).
