Have you guys read about it?
Another terrorist attack has hit Europe, this time in Brussels' airport and subway.

    Two explosions rock Brussels airport

Here’s what we know so far:

    • Two blasts hit the Zaventem airport shortly after 8am

    • One hour later there was an explosion at Maalbeek metro station

    • The attacks come four days after the arrest of Paris attack suspect Salah Abdelsam

    • The Belgian Prime Minister is asking people to “stay where they are”

    • The exact number and nationality of victims is not confirmed.

Witnesses have described a “war scene” with blood everywhere.

    • European leaders are stepping up security in most major cities.

    Such a tragedy.
I don't know how European and World governments can tackle the problem now.

    Very very sad

    It's very sad, indeed. :(

My thoughts are with everyone affected by this incident.

    It's terrible.

I don't understand how they can continually 'step up' security. Aren't we in a situation where it should be maximal, all the time?

EU refugee crisis isn't making it any easier to look for terror suspects in a flood of people. Unfortunate times we live in.

They already claimed the attack. ISIS are just the flavour of the month for these individuals to fight for. I don't think they are super picky.

Apparently nothing else happened in the world today.

Sunrise TV- 22 minutes about Belgium. No weather. 2 minutes about the rest of the world.

    Very, very sad.

Its expected really. Wont stop. The cancer will continue to spread until drastic action is taken by the world. Unfortunately I see many, many more bombings taking place before the world might be ready to take this ideological assault seriously. Just my opinion.

What is it these people want? To spread fear.

How are they going to do this?

    Publicity.

And when they have networks giving them total blanket coverage they've got exactly what they want. They've won.

So attacks will continue. And they will get all the free publicity they want. Every time.

(As long as it's perpetrated on white people. Bombings in Turkey or Beirut barely rated a mention. And let's forget about ever getting publicity here for attacks in Africa. Since Paris, there have been hundreds of terrorist attacks — many that have gone unnoticed)

Agree, but it was change from the relentless coverage of nationwide 'car drives into front of house in (enter city)' including interview with shocked owner who was in a different room at the time making a cup of cocoa, that we are normally treated to every morning in between stabbings.

TV "news" coverage is a place where visuals and fluff take precedence over content, especially in the morning. I like to have it on as background noise, something inconsequential to take my mind off the day ahead.

But I was surprised that they chose to promote the terrorists' cause solid for all that time- even not showing ads- instead of passing it over in favour of other fluff. (OK, there was Malcolm's fluffy comment on terrorism, plus the usual reporters trying to make him say something bad about Tony- a lot of fluff as well).

    Publicity!!?

    Are you for real?

They don't want publicity. They want to kill you. You, me, your family, all of us and do so to usher in the Caliphate.

Clueless coverage as you said, think yourself lucky they couldn't find a sobbing, newly bereaved relative to interview.

So they are going to kill 3 billion non Muslims?
They killed 30 people. And they now have people believe get that they are going to wipe out humanity. What they are doing is working. They have invoked fear by doing "little" in the big scale of things.

32,000 in 2014 alone actually. And no, no one believes they will wipe out humanity nor is their goal fear. It is death.

The majority of those 32,000 were Muslims killing Muslims- Iraq and Nigeria alone accounted for 50%; 80% are in just 5 countries. Which doesn't tie in with the concept that they are out to get "us"- that the war is Islam vs the Infidel. That doesn't make it any less tragic, but it puts things more in context.

More people were killed by terrorism last year than ever before
