Unfortunately it's bound to happen. Just a matter of time.

I hope the coward they took into custody gets tortured to the max until he gives up all the other cowards and networks he knows about.

Do Americans call this killing of 8 people by a middle-eastern man terrorism, but shooting 58 people dead by a caucasian to be something else?

    That's another thread.
We know US gun laws need to change, but it wont happen in my life time.

Terrorists attacked using vehicle also recently happened in UK, Spain.

Not this again. It’s not a racial thing, I wish people would stop implying that. I roll my eyes so hard when I hear people trying to make this about race.

Terrorism is the threat of sustained violence. The fear that another attack with the same underlying motivations could happen again.

Once off attacks where there is no expectation of a directly related follow up is not the same thing.

Vegas was not a terrorist attack. All that IRA stuff (perpetuated buy WHITE people) ARE terrorist attacks. All this ISIS stuff is also terrorism. Likewise, a guy holding up a bank is not terrorism. But a guy holding hostages in a bank in the name of a sky daddy is. This is not just semantics, it’s about the fear of sustained violence even once the act has been completed.

Extremely sad. I was just there recently and they had installed huge anti ram raid concrete blocks everywhere across the city. But I guess it’s just not feasible to have 100% coverage.

"The suspected driver, 29-year-old Sayfullo Saipov, had handwritten notes pledging his loyalty to the Islamic State terror network and shouted "Allahu Akbar" after the crash, law enforcement officials told Fox News. Saipov, who was shot by police, was taken into custody and remains hospitalized."

The twisted, f..... up irony is that now the families of the murdered are paying (via taxes) for his medical care.

Thanks for the education, I honestly didn't know. I thought it was based on numbers. Good to know that we don't have to expect any follow-up shootings anymore.

The last sentence sounds like sarcasm. Sorry but my sarcasm detector is broken.

Sounds to me like your sarcasm detector is working perfectly fine. Anyway seems like a can of worms that doesn't need to be re-opened. Violence in any form is a bad thing and I intuitively expected the reaction to be proportional to the victim count; I was wrong.
