Got a Building and Pest inspection which indicated “indication of significant presence of termites (present or past) and associated damage.”

Once I called the inspector he indicated that it looks like they tried to conceal damages in a number of rooms. He also indicated that he is not 100% sure of the property is free or has been treated.

I kind of got the vibe from him of “leave it and run”

By the way the guy was recommended here and I’m thankful to this forum for that.

The property is priced about $15K lower than comparable properties. Should I leave it? What would you do?

Leave it and run. If they tried to conceal this, who knows what else is concealed. Find a property unaffected by termites. $15K cheaper is not enough compared to the massive damage termites can do.

The only problem is with termites ,the deeper you dig the more you find..Unless it's a demo on land only maybe start looking at the next property on the list..imho..

    Thank you @Propertunity and @willair

I thought so, if it’s a seems to cheap there must be a reason. I thought about negotiating a lower price. But as you both mentioned, nobody knows how much it will end up costing me in repairs.

Agree with all the posters above. Leave it. There are a lot of houses around.
