what do people do with termite control on their investment property? Termite inspection only lasts 6 months - and inspection doesn’t prevent it and it’s so expensive. Is there something that can be installed to prevent these buggers?
Yes, preventative measures such as termi mesh etc. aren’t cheap though :/ For less riskier areas, regular inspections are the minimum you’d probably want to be doing.
Depends on the property, if there is no history of termite activity, then you could bump these inspections out to 12 monthly. Inspections are purely for the purpose of discovering activity.
My place has lots of trees, I had termites checked a while ago. From memory it was like $300 and that was only for 6 months coverage. If I had termite barriers installed, I wouldn’t need to fork out every 6 months for inspection? Any reputable pest control companies that doesn’t cost an arm and leg anyone can recommend in NSW?
I have the barriers and still get annual inspections. Google some companies in your area and get some comparable quotes is probably your best bet!
There are things that you can do to minimize the risk. Getting rid of anything made of wood in close proximity to the house is a good idea, especially those old sleepers that people used to use as garden borders years ago. They also love moisture. so leaking taps outside are a magnet.
