We had a family holiday in April. First time in TAS.
The Airport gave us a bit of cultural shock :)
But, once we got used to the 'remoteness', we absolutely loved it. Going from Sydney, we could feel the fresh air. Wherever you turn, there is a water view! It is a hidden gem.
Currently, Perth tops my list of cities I would move. Hobart comes second, only because it is a bit away from the rest of the world.

    Insights into TAS

Tasmania is in second position on the economic performance rankings. Tasmania is ranked first on three of the eight indicators.

Very interesting. The population growth in TAS is surprising, but good to see. Lovely place.

The main concern I see in the report is for the QLD property bulls.

Yes I hold some QLD property and would agree ... maybe a change of state govt would help? But that’s a discussion for another thread.

Geographically Hobart is a lot closer to more of Australia than Perth , Though Perth is closer to Bali ....

Qld middle of the pack and improving so I am not too worried. The vancacy is down rent has been going up so if this keeps up in the next year or two, we will have a boom condition with afortabililty being one of the best in all major cities.

Have never been to Tasmania, but everyone that I have spoken to that has, gives it the thumbs up.
Great scenery, clean air and water, and no real traffic issues.
Certainly worth a visit by all accounts. Would be good for the history buffs to I imagine.

Only in summer, other months it gets really cold, especially winter. Thats why less people want to go live there.
