Tagging

Could someone please enlighten me on how to tag users in a post? @username.

Yep, just use the '@' symbol and start typing the first few letters of the username and it should pre-populate @HD_ACE

 

You tag by typing @ and starting to type in the username. So if I type in - ignoring spaces - @ R i x ... you'll see that a drop-down menu appears after putting in at least 3 characters, and I can select "Rixter". Like this: @Rixter And @HD_ACE

The point of it is that Rixter and HD_ACE will now get an alert, and know that I want them to look at this thread. It's great for inviting somebody to come and comment upon a thread where you know they'll have useful input.

 

fullylucky doesn't look to have joined propertychat yet, but once he does, I imagine he'll get tagged a lot.

Step 1: Enter https://propertychat.com.au/community/help/ into the address bar
Step 2: Click on 'BB Codes'
Step 3: Press CTRL + F
Step 4: Type "Tag"
Step 5: Select and copy

Step 6: Click on users avatar that you would like to tag, then click on their username in pop up.
Step 7: From the example url https://propertychat.com.au/community/members/hd_ace.274/
copy the number at the end - '274'
Step 8: Go to your chosen thread
Step 9: Enter

[USER=**]*****[/USER]

and edit to the user you have selected to tag eg.

Code:

[USER=274]HD_ACE[/USER]

Step 10: Click on 'More options'
Step 11: Click on 'Preview' to ensure your tag is displaying correctly
Step 12: When you are happy with your post, click on 'Post reply'
Step 13: Bask in your own glory

 

That sounds a lot more complicated than typing "@" and the start of the username, @Azazel!
