I wonder if they'll go back and check other 'deals' he did with the council to see if there were any other underpaid sites bought. The locals must be furious.

I don't think the Auburn councillors will be back before the merger, and I don't know who the councillors will be after that. But I doubt Mehajer will be one of them.

Whether or not they'll still eventually sell that car park, I have no idea. While good for residents, free car parks don't make much money for the council.

Also be interested to know what they're going to do with the old motor registry site on Swete Street. The adjacent school would like to expand on to it, which sounds good to me, but selling it to a developer would be more profitable.

I don't know that any of the other sites he's building on were owned by the council. The one on John Street used to have a line of shops there, but I have no idea who owned them.

I'd guess that the majority of the advantage he got from council would relate to planning approvals and rezoning.

I'm pretty sure the Auburn Rd one was bought by his 'sister's' development company. But not from the council. Instead the council rezoned that site for high density residential and commercial so they could build up to 21 metres high. I think they've said the rezoning has been reversed. In addition another 2 sites were rezoned for 2 separate known associates of the Councilor. These will not be reversed. But it is expected they will be reviewed as part of the investigation.

I think he brought all this attention to himself by starting with that silly wedding show off.

Can't believe he's playing the race card. It doesn't help his cause.

I wonder if the majority olive councillors were against the white ones. Not because of racism but.

If he started buying up properties in Moranbah this would certainly help in a resolution to not only this, but also another well populated thread...
