8.5 on the way to the workshop this A.M

    Workshop temp currently 9.5

    Sydney winters are pretty good.

Life goal; 6 months in Melb (summer), 6 months in Byron...or maybe further north for winter; Cairns....maybe become one of those annoying old b@stard grey nomads. :p

Tropical climate at a suitable altitude can be wonderful. There is not a big variability in climate, depending on the latitude. The altitude can be enough to remove the heat associated with the latitude, as well as the humidity. There may be rain from the tropical wet, but that is seasonal and bearable.

I lived for three months in Medellín in Colombia, which is at about 1500m altitude. The climate is like a permanent spring. The average temperature range is 17 to 27, rarely getting below 15 or above 32.

New cafe at Parramatta Park gatehouse! It was a full burger... like mine was a full salad. Now, I don't usually order salads, but that was really good.

Later that evening I had volleyball and we went to Eastwood after our game. We usually go to Meet Fresh but went to the night market instead for a change. It was freezing cold last night....
    Not!

I have yet to try there, I did get out to the Fairfield night markets, what an awesome culinary experience :).

Have you been to Parra Lake recently? They are doing some really good work there in the last few years, it looks amazing :).

Not recently! Will have to go. Now that the council got rid of the swimming pool in Parramatta, I wonder if the lake is the new swimming venue....

State Govt pushed the redevelopment of Parramatta Park for a football Stadium causing the untimely loss of the pool.

I had seen the lake pushed as a temporary solution to the lack of pools in the area (Granville pool is now in Cumberland council) - you'll literally be swimming with the eels in the lake (as advised by some locals).

There's now some canoeing on the lake in spring to autumn.

I used to complain about Sydney's weather but after experiencing Canberra's weather, can't really complain. Wonder if there are still people swimming in Bondi pools.

I'd think they do. Sydney water in Winter is not bad. I'm doing fine with a spring suit so far

Perhaps having a juice of a lemon/lime, everyday first thing in the morning, may help with the allergies or having more vitamin 'C'. I too don't mind Sydney winters, try living in Europe in a valley where you can have -26degrees and having snow say for 5 months of the year?

I like Bali as a place to visit; but prefer Aus as a place to live.

    Agreed!

I had to catch a flight at 7am not long ago. It was -7C outside. The terminal was warm so I took my jacket off, but then had to walk across the tarmac to the plane. They have to keep spraying antifreeze over the plane so that the plane doesn't get too much ice, adding weight and changing the aerodynamics.

At least in a really cold place I wouldn't have to walk on the tarmac.
