    South of the line.

Didn't think there were any houses on quarter acre north of the line. Only units, townhouses and the shopping centre.

To the north west and you're into Whalan but they are worth less than south of the line.

Any recommendations for South or North West? I also concern about rental income as well, because I will be living inside and renting out the other 2 bedrooms. I am working full time in the city, still single.

Follow the train line to the south and follow the train line North west. If you are single though, im not sure going far out suits. Do you yourself have any idea on what you want to live?

I just checked suburb medians. Maybe Canterbury could suit you? Not too far out, commute is good, median price quite reasonable.....

Townhouses along the southern line inc stations Como/Jannali/Sutherland/Kirrawee/Loftus/Engadine are all 45 mins via train to cbd or less and lovely pockets in there. Peak hour in the car double that time though.

    Hey,
How would you rate Schofields, as i can see you can have good size block under 850K ?

I am always reluctant to jump in on PPOR questions, because so much of it comes down to tastes and personal preferences. There is a lot we don't know, including where your school and family network is, and how reliant you are on these things.

That said, I would suggest Hornsby as the best bang for buck around this price range. Penshurst or Mortdale on the South side.

    Hope this helps.
