Seems like Abattoirs station no longer exists.

    Wow.
This shows me there has been minimal progress to the Rail System in the last 67 years?!

    • City circle wasn't yet completed
    • Cream of Tartar? This will be part of the Parramatta light rail
    • Clyburn?
    • Was even a line to Ropes Creek.
    • Kurrajong line? Who wouldda thunk it?
    Brain teaser:

What's the difference between an abandoned line and a closed line? Both physically and legislatively?

    Spot the differences:
    - East Hills Line now connects to the Main South Line at Glenfield.
    - Chatswood to Epping Link now completed.
    - Eastern Suburbs Line now completed.
    - Airport Line between Wolli Creek and Central now completed.
    - Olympic Park Branch Line now completed.
    - Rope's Creek Line is closed.
    - Sandown Line is closed.
    - Richmond to Karrajong Line is closed.
    - Royal National Park branch line is closed.
    - Camden Line is closed.
    - Clyburn station is closed.
    - Regent Street station is closed.
    - Rookwood to Abbatoirs is closed.

Other than the Eastern Suburbs Line, nearly nothing has been done on the core part of the network on the approaches to the City Circle since the 1920s. There are some unused platforms in places such as Central and Wynyard. No surprise then that the Metro is long overdue!

    This is just plain stupid.

Located right in the middle of the new estate... so instead of thinking, how do we make public transport better and restore a train line, let just go build more houses where the line use to be and pour money on the West Connex - Which incidentally if Premier Neville Wran never sold off the corridor the M4 would have connected to City West Link years ago.

Guess much hasn't changed in terms of dodgy governments.

Abattoirs suspiciously looks to be where the current day Olympic Park station is....

That would have been too simple - SOCOG had to rip up the line and put a whole new one in to service the site. (It was possibly too heavily contaminated to use).

If you attended the Olympics you would have seen the similarities.

So much livestock at the Olympic venues though over the last two weeks thanks to the Easter show... Even the indoor sports centre we usually play volleyball at turned into a sheep display....

Sydney's train network in 1950 is still bigger than Perth today.
