Yes it is hard to get around Sydney sometimes with the volume of people. Public transport networks and connections are good imo but density of people can be too much sometimes. I guess people stick to their patch as a solution

This rings true for me. Without a lot of money i don't see Sydney as offering a very good lifestyle. Those who got in a whole ago maybe if they aren't crippled with repayments. But if you don't earn big money there's no point in living there these days. The amenity (harbor, beaches) isn't available to an average person without significant effort. My 2c.
I have to say this to that I think that also bodes well for Brisbane lots of people are going to say well I can go buy a really nice house up there and be a nurse/fireman/average earning couple

Agree.....its ******** that politicians aren't drilling underground rail lines today.

The total crap about "its tooooo expensive", well if you don't start today its not going to get any cheaper in the future.

Best thng about living in NY I can get anywhere I want in 30 mins or less.

There will be a fair amount of underground tunnels with this:

I'm in Brooklyn Heights (near the Clark/Henry 2/3 but within 2 blocks of A/C for far west side and 3 blocks of 4/5 for east side) it takes 19mins from Clark st to Time Square.

So on the west side you could probably make it to 96th of so in 30 mins, on the east side its a bit slower though I can get to 86th and 3rd inc walk at either end in 40 mins.

That pretty much covers most of the places in manhattan I need to get to.

Most of the time we go out to LES or West Village so think Sydney CBD to Paddington 10-15 mins or less.
