It seems the Delta strain seems easy for kids to get and also die from too, certainly it’s not a zero risk.

Our son with an autoimmune condition also was given that advice, and chose AZ as soon as he could get it, and is now fully vaccinated.

The US will be vaxxing kids down to 5 - currently down to 12 - so again, we will have time to watch the results before taking the plunge

I think it may depend on the person's specific medical issue @geoffw.

I know of one lady who has a rare genetic blood disorder which her children have inherited. She cannot even have a flu vaccination and her medical practitioner has advised against having a Covid vaccination for that reason. She would prefer to be vaccinated but feels the risks are too great.

Probably a case by case situation and hard to generalise.

Can I please amend "unhappy" - to "furious and outraged"

Many who are priority groups (aged care staff, teachers, health compromised) have been put off in that 5,000

Basically comes down to ... Newcastle people have done the right thing and managed to stay Covid free the entire 18 months, despite only being 2 hours from Sydney and multiple risks from escapees, yet we get shafted again due to Sydney people not doing the right thing

However, if people had done the right thing (not just Newcastle) they would at least have had one jab by now. Aged care staff at least were in category 1b, and have had the opportunity for a jab for some months.

And it's not necessarily the case that it's spread in Sydney just because they're more careless. Sydney is far more densely populated, which is more conducive to spreading.

One could say that Sydney people are more dense ;-)

Depends if they are hanging out for the Pfizer due to age or other issues - it's only been available in any quantity for the last few weeks, at the Belmont Hub - mutter mutter

Therefore the correct choice on the poll was the ten people who selected: Move to Darwin....

Those who a month or so back were telling us "I've had enough of Victoria; I'm moving to Queensland" must be feeling a bit jinxed ATM

It wont matter what the numbers are soon. NSW lost it already and we wont get back to 0. Vaccines, vaccines, vaccines are the ONLY way to be free by the end of August.

EVERYONE get the vaccine!!!! Thank god the rate of take-up is exponentially rising.

There is no way Sydney will be out of lockdown by the end of August...

One can only hope. If the vaccine takeup continues to exponentially rise each day as we are seeing that is great! Sydney is a TINY population compared to other mega cities. We can do it if everyone does their part.

I dont think Sydney will wait either for other states. As soon as we hit 50-60% of the adult population it will open or significant easing will be back.
