This is the house of the week.... I decided to check it out on the internet as it's a sandstone house. It also has a sandstone woolshed out the back.... and swimming pool... my first thought seeing the layout is that its perfect for living in the front and hosting short term rental guests in the back. Ca-ching!

How much do you think it will sell for?

Its near a train station but also near the train line. Not too far from the airport.
The listed price is 2 mill but it's being offered for sale via auction.

Ps. I'd love to accumulate it but the partner isn't quite saying yes to owning a second sandstone house at this stage. But he looked at the photos online and he liked it too.

Online val comes in just short of $2M - beautiful house - certainly much nicer than the surrounding houses.
With prices still going gangbusters I guess around 2.2M.

Does it face a T-junction - bad feng shui?

I don't think its really a home that Chinese would go for. So it could go for anything really.

$2.2m or maybe $8.8m after 58 contracts are given out and 34 bidders register and it sells for $6.6m over reserve.

    <Yawn>

    Just another Sydney auction weekend...

Update: agent says it sold for 2.5m and both vendor and purchasers are happy. Good news story :)

@bob shovel's guess was the closest, then again, add on about 100k of stamp duty and solicitors fees etc... he picked it.

    What a bugger!
I wanted to go and see it but it didn't quite work out timing wise.

    Bugger, I was $6.3m out.

And in this crazy market as well.

What was the problem with it, Gockie, was it built on top of an old lithium factory like that awkward one in Hunters Hill?

Good news though, with your 8.8 mil you could have bought three of them and still have change!

It wasnt my money but I'm sure the bank will be unimpressed given the reduced revenue that they will get.

Maybe I should use their money for something else, like some investments in tech stocks that dont have any profits...
