    Hi All,

What selling rates have you got ?

How much for your marketing ?

I was talking to someone who said 1.6 , but that seems expensive as I said I can sell myself for just the marketing costs.

They said marketing is about 3600 , that seems a bit as well

Not right now. Mine (house and a unit) was 1.65% incl GST (from memory). I think my marketing was more than the 3k you quoted.

Did you do much negotiating for that fee ? of was that what they offered ?

Did you do them separate, or were both offered at similar/same time, as the $$$ potential sales number would prob vary the rate.

Similar times, and perhaps it was more attractive to the agent with more $$$ :)

Another (well regarded) agent in the area had substantially higher fees, higher marketing charges and don't do as many photos.

I think most of us here on PC are accumulators, not sellers :D

I was also trying to search some information on selling process but this side of the forum doesn't seem to get much traffic. (Living room is hot though)

I dont think that many would admit to selling anyway.

2.2 seems fairly common in outer suburbs here where I recently sold a couple.

Let's say commission rates went down in Sydney. Last time I sold (2010) a good rate was 2.2%. The strong property price growth recently seems to mean that commission rates could come down since and still make an agent a lot of money.

    I'm being quoted 1.5%+GST=1.65%.
Marketing costs around the $6K mark.

    ETA: for an auction campaign.

Just sold our PPOR with Purple Bricks last week. Charged a flat rate for everything, no marketing charges etc. Very pleased with the result.

I am in the process of selling my parents place in Sydney as a favour for them. So far I have spent about $1,100 on everything including professional photos, floor plans and online listing. For the life of me I can not work out how some agents justify those marketing costs. We do not charge anything for marketing upfront and have a small levy payable on settlement. No sale = no cost.

    These bods did too: linky

They saved themselves a not all and achieved $2.175m

What would they have achieved elsewhere?
