Oh, I want to try Durian so much! But I haven't been able to find any good ones in Perth. Any I have seen that look like they might be good have been mouldy. :(

The brown salted sour plums are good with hot water as a drink for sore throats! But, just thinking about them makes me salivate! They take me down memory lanes replete with preserved red ginger and preserved green olives!

I'm in Cambodia right now. There is really something about jackfruit - fresh or dried. The taste and texture.... just so good. Not drippy wet, not ultra sweet. Mild.
The dried version is different too - so light and crisp....

Right, so over the weekend we passed a durian place and saw this massive one and just had to have it. Cost was just under $35. Took it apart this morning :)

Very sharp this one...i'm determined to not get injured.

Global knifes are super sharp for this kinda beast

Finally after 5 minutes sliced it open. 3 seeds joined in this 1 section. There are about 4 sections. Looks very ripe and sweet.

@$35..none is wasted.. and I mean none.

Altogether, 14 seeds. Gonna have a feast tonight :D Those who have never tried it.. gotta try it at least once..
