Do you buy Who Gives a Crap products? I've been doing that for several years. I love the philosophy behind it, not to mention having it delivered for free.

Did you buy the premium rolls? I tried the cheaper ones first, and switched to premium bamboo. Much better.

You've left your "runs" too late.

    It’s made in China!

Prefer to support Australian companies and keep the jobs here.

I like the idea of it, but not the product.

I don't know if my daughter's place had standard, but on her income, I'd be quite sure it wasn't premium. I didn't like it - the sheets didn't tear off cleanly. Tearable stuff.

The premium appears to be $60 for 48 rolls. Quilton 3 ply at Woolies is about $13 for a 24 pack. Aldi home brand (which appears to actually be produced by Quilton) is cheaper. That's a big premium.

I'd not looked that far into it but I guess the upside is that they give a percentage of the profits to build toilets for poor communities.

And I don't mind paying a premium for having it delivered and for the charity side of it, but I guess I need to look further into it.

I must admit. I don't go for products which advertise themselves as recycled toilet paper

To be fair, they are a certified B-Corp, so they have external audit and certification of their sustainability creds.

Funny I was just asking my neighbour if she has enough toilet paper and her reply was "There's plenty of fern growing up on the hill there"

I have to say I didn't look at where it was made, but having just done some homework, they have answered this question quite well, compared sea miles vs road miles and that they are carbon neutral over the whole operation, and cannot source paper wrappings in Australia, but can do that from China.

On balance, I'm happy to keep buying from them, but I guess this topic has raised awareness for me into something I'd not thought too much about (except for the things I already liked about the company).

This thread prompted a Google search for Australian-made toilet paper and I found that ‘icare’ toilet paper is both Australian owned and made in Laverton Nth, Melbourne!

So, locally made if you’re a Victorian - there may even be other local companies.

If we can’t get toilet paper, my sustainable option is to use old socks, preferably without too many holes ;).

What is wrong with:- use, rinse (with Napisan), repeat.

My mother did that with cloth nappies when I was a youngin. If that was good enough for my baby bottom, surely the old sock approach is good enough for my adult backside .
    Is that anywhere near Lavatory?
