Hi guys - I thought I would start a thread to post any relevant Sustainable Property Development/Sustainable Building/Sustainable Property Investment Events on in Perth/WA.

I have previously been posting the odd event on the Going Green thread (check it out if you’re interested in sustainability and property investing), but thought it best to start a separate threat so as to not bombard non-Perth peeps with events that aren’t relevant to them.

Please post any relevant events you hear about. And subscribe to the thread to keep informed of anything coming up.

And hopefully I’ll catch some of you at an event soon!

    Tour - The Green Swing
    Sun 13th Oct 2019, 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

The Green Swing developments in the suburb of Lathlain, Victoria Park, provide inspiration for medium density infill development. Both projects had a strong focus on sustainability and community, and received multiple industry awards. They incorporate a range of sustainability measures and materials and offer several community facilities to the residents.

Join Green Swing developer and founder of Green Fabric, Eugenie Stockmann, for a tour of the The Green Swing's projects, the first one Genesis and The Siding which followed. There will also be an opportunity to visit the community sump garden, and the community food forest project, two examples of urban revegetation projects adjacent to both Green Swing developments.

    Tour - The Green Swing Tickets, Sun 13th Oct 2019 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm | Humanitix

I did go to 2 of the open homes in Wembley, the 'Wembley Eco-home' and the 'Straw-bale Student Studio'. Interestingly both places mentioned the most effective and cheapest way to gain extra efficiency is purely orientation and design. Was great to talk to the owners at each one.

Absolutely. Often there is no cost increase for achieving good solar orientation. That’s why the current poor performance of most of our new housing stock is such a wasted opportunity.
