I did consider it to "join the crowd" but heard bad things about the battery life

I'm a couple of weeks into using the SP4 and it's still awesome. It's incredible - it's replaced my desktop PC at home and my tablet. Absolutely love it.

    Cheers

    Just purchased a SP4 128GB I5 yesterday.
So far so good. Much more user friendly than the ipad.

I plan to purchase a dock and monitor for home.

That's what I've just done - typing from my new set up right now.

I didn't end up with a dock - just got:

    - HDMI adapter for mini display port
    - Wireless keyboard/mouse (takes up the USB port)
    - Monitor

Granted I can't plug in any more USB devices without the dock - but I don't think I'll need to.

    Cheers

Does anyone know if you still need anti virus software for Windows 10?

From my little bit of googling the general consensus was yes - probably a good idea to get anti virus. I have.

Last night I was on an aircraft for 6 hours watching videos on a SP4. Used about 50% of the battery.

Agreed - hasn't been an issue for me either.

    Cheers

That's great. My Pro3 loses about 40% in 2 hours.

I am waiting for pro 5 for hopefully better battery life.

What are you using to connect 2 monitors to it? Does the dock have 2 ports or are the monitors just using different cable types?

That looks basically the same setup as mine (but I do not use the Pro3 as the main computer in the office). Down to what appears to be the same dell monitors.

Two ports on the docking station. Plenty of USB 3.0 ports, Ethernet. All hooks in to the SP3 or SP4 via the power cable. Very easy, I suspect the designed the whole system with this sort of setup in mind.

I've also got an SP3. Pretty good but I agree it's battery life isn't the same.

    Not known yet.

I hoped with the recent sales on Pro 4's. It would be soon. Ie like they were clearing them.

But it appears it could be October or more likely early 2017
