    So thinking of
SME 4-1 EL Headers (not sure what the difference between Race and Street) are
    SME Overpipe 2.75"
    SME Frontpipe 2.75"

    + Custom Tune

Aim is to keep the car looking at stock (and sounding stock-ish)

I have all the street cred i need with a baby seat in the back and a baby on board sticker :)

If you are not going FI then drop a K&N filter in the stock airbox and you will ad 5 ponies :)

If you go FI then it should be modified. I have had a racing snorkel fitted as the front bumper gets in the way of airflow for the stock airbox.

Save your money, you will get a bigger difference in a good set of performance tires/brake pads and some track day learning.
Or go all out on the supercharging/turbo.

    I get the feeling it's a daily.

@Colin Rice - not sure. I've had the car for 1.5 years. Been wanting to take it to the track / some twisty roads.... to date I haven't had time.

It's used to drive from A to B when my wife wants to use the Forester, otherwise I'll drive to woolies to buy milk when I feel like driving the car.

From its usage, its closer to a daily... except it only driven fortnightly. It's probably clocked close to 1500km in a year.

For occasional track use and spirited driving I reckon a brake fluid change and upgraded pads would be a good start, then maybe some coilovers.

You may or may not like this video that was posted in a car club page a few days ago in regards to going FI :)

I wouldn't waste the money on a CAI. The stock boxes are good to near 250kw. They are very well designed.
Remove the resonator, and use a small piece of flared PVC pipe to connect airbox to inside guard (acts as CAI for the price of 10c). Pretty sure its 90mm diameter.
A Repco filter will more than suffice for what you're doing. But K&N is good too if you can get it cheap (just make sure its not an oiled one).

    Update!

So i picked up a 2nd hand set of ACE CS400 headers (apparently the best on the market) and got those installed last night with a road tune done by IXA - Everything else is STOCK (for now - things to consider for the future include tyres, final drive ratio, suspension).

Anyway, the car handles like a completely different machine and "feels" a lot faster (don't care about actuals because i want to keep my licence :p)

Quite happy with the mod so far (its only been 12 hours since it was installed), time will tell.

ACE are one of if not the best.

After I got my sc fitted and took it for a spin I was thinking "whoa this is way more than enough power"

1 week later "needs more power". Car guys diseases in full flight

    hahahaha

Kind of felt like that yesterday after the tuner said to me, front pipe adds about 5kw, catback around 3kw, but you'll need to change the catback as the stock can't handle the power and will start to rattle.

I'll hold off until the stock exhaust starts to rattle :D

Amazing. Thing is a monster now. Well at least to me it is lol. The tune has put it right in the fun zone, where you can push it to it's limit in terms of grip and control. By far the most fun car Ive ever driven.

What's it take to go from 125 to 250?
