Yep, supercharged plus a ton of other mods like suspension and BBK (big brake kit)

    280rwhp and 300nm of torque :)

Correct but pretty safe if tuned right and psi around 10 or less. I got a Japanese tuner to do mine.

Great advice. By Japanese parts as they usually have a lot of R&D behind them as well as the pride of the rising son at stake. There are lots of crap parts out there so pay a little more and get quality.

Turbo has lag and SC more linear. Make sure you fit an oil cooler as well.

Mine looks stock on the outside besides being lowered and phat tyres to put the power down. Love sleepers.

Wont happen as it will compete with the WRX.

Ryan Turk put a Lamborghini motor in one, insane.

If you go down this route then add up what you think it will cost and double it and you should be close ;)

I've got a Celica GT4 motor and drivetrain under a Corolla wagon. Called a Caldina.

Always happens. So the question I always ask is, if you had all that cash spent in your hands now, what could you buy instead?

    Bet you love it though.

I would likely do the same just be wiser on who I let work on the car and also some parts selected where inferior but probably made some good money for the seller. I found all this out the hard way.

Yes I love it and get excited just looking at it never mind driving it as it is my daily as well as a track car.

I normally am very calculating with the ins and outs of my life but when it comes to cars its a separate category ;) My wife has only said to me once "its a money pit" and my response was you lack for nothing so be quiet lol.

Well the simple truth about that addiction to cars is that the car is your other wife/mistress and you have no money or time left over to stray from either car wife or human wife :)

I pay for most of the work cause I can make much more $$$ elsewhere than spending hours working on a car and wondering "did I get it right".

And that was the last we ever heard from Colin.

I call dibs on his 86.

Totally different beast. For the first few weeks I thought "this enough power" and then it felt like stock again as i got used to it haha.

What made you go supercharger instead of turbo?
And the insurance... mine is currently at $1200 per year with $800 excess on a stock 86.
Now that yours is modded, how much is the insurance?

I like it.:D The GT Liberty wagon was on the hit list too. Suby is slightly sexier:oops:. But Caldina came up trumps for me as I'm a Toyota fan boy and 200kw in 1500kg of family friendly fun won out. And was about 20k cheaper at the time. Nearly 4 years in and I still enjoy it EVERY single time I drive, even if it's going to work. They're a pretty rare sight in my area too.

    Yep!
When I modded my WRX, it went from stock 125kw (at all 4 wheels) up to a bit over 200kw atw.
Scared the **** out of me when I drove it home.. 2 weeks later I wanted to double it again.

I went with SC as that was the recommendation at the time.

Use an insurance broker so about the same as yours with all mods listed and covered as well as salvage rights so if written off I can part out :)

Last time I was in that neck of the woods was 20+ years ago ;)

I think i might start off with changing the headers + exhaust and getting it tuned to get around the torque dip. Turbo'ing is tempting, but @mikey7 's comment does concern me a little. Don't want to blow up the engine.

CAI too, no point making it breath out better if it can't breath in better :).

From what I've read a CAI on the 86 is a waste as the stock is quite well designed.

I never knew that, a stock air box that performs as well as a modded intake, hats off to Toyota for it :). Should save a few pennies :).
