Hi all, What are your thoughts of the suburbs in close proximity to the proposed high speed rail network? There seems to be more and more talk about it and wondering if people are looking to areas along the network to invest in?

Problem for the moment is that a specific route has not been determined. You could potentially buy in a location adversely affected by future construction of the link ( e.g. next to a substation, noise affected or shadowing, etc), way outside where the link actually runs ( if multiple routes under consideration ) or lose out in a zoning change ( e.g. just miss out on a property being in a favourably rezoned area ).

Best to wait for a route to be locked-in, ideally with planning approval.

Long term plan. Not plan to be finished for 30 years from what i read. Longer than my horizon for property.

They have talked about the second airport for twenty years.

So I'd add twenty to their earliest date for high speed rail.
