Junior was 18 at 30/6/21 - but has no income and no expenses - does she need to lodge tax return?

    She does have a TFN

I can't remember, but I don't think so if she hasn't paid any tax.

Lil Ms No Mates got her TFN 2½ years ago but didn't work in the first year 19/20 but worked last year.

We went into my.gov.au, registered with ATO (it needs a linking code - must be a phone call). Then completed the outstanding nil return and last years return.

    Simples.

Thanks for that ... cruised around the ATO site and could only find "most will require" .. but no definition of who was "most"

In MyGov you will see years of unlodged returns and can easily advise the ATO if any of those dont "need" a lodgement eg You were a lowly paid student etc

If you receive a PAYG sumamy with any tax deducted a return IS required.
