Hi - sorry if this has been covered elsewhere but I have a subfloor in a basement room that's rotting. It's an old Victorian Terrace in inner Sydney but the subfloor appears to have been made of MDF. With the recent rain it is melting more each day. We were hoping to wait to repair it until we started some renovations but it's getting pretty bad so I need to call some one in. Sorry for the dumb question but do I call a builder to fix or should I seek help from another tradie? Oddly Google wasn't much help - Google suggested I fix it myself but I'd like a professional. Thanks
You will need both a structural carpenter/builder and a subfloor ventilation specialist eg linky You may also need to address rising damp as well. Alot easier if the flooring is out.
