    Hi,

I'm contemplating buying a property as an investment to subdivide. I've had a look at the block to determine what size of parcel is required and where I would locate a property on the parcel. There is however a well established and very tall gum tree very close to the boundary with the adjacent neighbour. Does anyone know how this Council, or any Council, would see this issue? The optimum position for a dwelling would be hard up against this boundary (taking into account any set back) however the root system for this tree would I'm certain be snaking across under any proposed house. I'm concerned that an issue like this could derail the whole idea (and there is no other option to site a proposed dwelling).

    Thanks

    Hi,

Apologies - the tree is on the neighbour's land.
