    Hi all,

Can someone recommend a good structural engineer in Adelaide to advise on cracks as shown below. Its a 1980 build double brick house on clay soil.

Looking for advise on level of concern and any actions needed.

The wall cracks look similar to what I’m getting at a property that is double brick on limestone foundation and sandy/clay soil. It used to only happen at the front of the house near the tree but now most of the house is cracked. I would love to know your outcome from structural engineer! I can’t convince my husband to get rid of the tree in rental property but I’ve seen the size of the roots going into the backyard after a tenants digging dog revealed then. I don’t know enough about different gum tree varieties to know how invasive their root systems are but some do a lot of damage. At my own home I had an arborist recommend I remove a small gum tree as the variety grows in a rocky, dry environment with invasive root system. Mine is s class

Do you own the place or considering to buy?

It may need underpinning the foundation ($$$) and/or other remedial/repair work.
