    Hi PC,

I'm currently starting to look into diversifying my portfolio into Adelaide, it seems to be on the up at the moment with positive signs for the future. With a budget of 550k and looking for a buy and hold property with strong capital growth with possible subdivision/development potential in the later years, where are some good suburbs to keep an eye on?

    Thanks in advance!

    Mark

Probably have a look through these as a starting point adelaide suburb review | PropertyChat

Some of them are written a little while ago so prices have moved since the medians mentioned in them, but should get you onto the right track at least.

A few of my picks. Semaphore Park, Semaphore South, Ethelton just to name a few. I'd have a crack at this one if I was in the market at that price 59 Recreation Parade, Semaphore Park, SA 5019 throw down some new carpets, then rent it out until the bulldozer arrives.

    Thanks D.T!

Thanks, yeah I have been looking through these suburbs. Just trying to familiarize myself with the areas.
Haha glad the carpets don't match the drapes in this case! Thanks for the link!

Personally like areas closer to Christies Beach with future dev potential and decent rent yield..

Good thing about this/neighbouring area is development potential down the line along with any normal growth.

Double edge sword i'll say and yields are good which means holding cost is not much compared to Melb and Sydney where prices are dropping and yields are fairly poor!..

    Cheers,

    Too far from the CBD!

For 550k you can get inner ring or middle ring with dev potential.

Yup - CB is a good option for lower budgets
Probably north west or north east for next level up

How are Warraddale and surrounds going now? I was looking to buy there around 4 years ago. I always thought suburbs just east of Brighton Road were always pretty good value.

A lot of it has redeveloped now. So existing houses are worth a fair bit more
