Strata insurance instead of building insurance

    Is it possible to use strata insurance to insure both a granny flat and main house?

    I did a quote for one of my properties, (house + granny flat) and the strata insurance policy through AAMI is significantly cheaper than building insurance only on a normal run of the mill policy (building only)

    Have i missed something, as Im not sure I am buying the right insurance.
