    Hi guys,

Thinking of putting an offer for a property but just found out that there is something going across the property (number 4). Not sure what this line means, is it something to be worried about?

    Thanks in advance!

Where did the map come from? It should have a key / legend....

It’s from ARCGIS (Queensland Urban Utilities).

I tried to click on the line but I can’t actually click on it unlike other lines such as water service. I looked at the legend but still clueless..

It looks like a contour line to me.

I think the contour is the light grey line at the top.

If it’s urban utilities I’m guess either stormwater or sewer.

Apologies, but can anyone explain to me what contour actually means?

Should I be worried about the orange line?

I stand corrected. I do believe it is a contour line!

It’s a reference line for elevation. So no, nothing to worry about. Unless there’s a few right next to each other which would indicate a hill or something.

Thank you, good to know it's nothing to worry about :)

But still a little confused about how to read the reference line? i.e. what property is elevated in reference to that line?Does the number 60 stand for something?

I would assume it means 60 m above sea level - would that make sense in terms of where the property is located?

Ah, I see! The left side of the line (where number 2 is) is lower and the contour line number is 50 for the left side. So I'm assuming right side of the property is slightly more elevated?

    only if you're catholic

the contour line joins points of common level.
try scrolling down the map to look for the next contour. it will give you an indication of which way the slope increases / decreases
