    Hey guys,

I recently bought a property and I do not want my family and friends to know how much I paid. I’m a pretty private individual.

On REA the agent moved the price to “contact agent”, but it is showing on core logic. I emailed their privacy officer to take it down, but was politely told that they won’t do it.

Is there anything I can do here?

I'm not sure you can do anything, but they'd have to know where to look to find it. Core Logic isn't even a Company that the average Joe has even heard of.

You can write to the appropriate Minister in your state to change the laws governing freedom of information. It took a long time for this information to become freely accessible for all people through various websites now you want to change this for no benefit to the wider community other than self interest.

No-one really cares what you paid and if they cared to look it up, what benefit would they derive from knowing?

The only item that may be suppressed by the land titles office is the name of the purchaser (eg judges, court orders, politicians and a select few people).

Just as an aside, I typed the address of a home we purchased earlier in the year into Google. About 6-7 entries down the list in Google I found the sold price, but it was for 2007, not 2020. No record of recent sale recorded there.
