ANZ etrade has an offer of up to $500 free brokerage and commsec up to $600 free brokerage to get you going if you're opening a new account.

    Hi

I've consolidated my portfolio into my Westpac trading account. Is anyone aware of how to buy foreign stocks (in this case american) without a broker through one of these personal trading accounts?

I only know that on etrade there is a section you go to and have to enable it, I assume you need to complete some verification and give some details (I haven't actually activated) but I would think they're all similar.

Try this link for the Westpac one: Westpac Online Investing | International Shares
