Bronwyn must be feeling shafted for a helicopter ride when McKenzie gifted her own rifle club with $40k with no fallout.

Scotty's happy clappy church also received a past grant for over $100k ... feeling very disillusioned with government atm

In that case, shouldn't every church get government grants? I keep being told that they all have a pretty important friend! :D

I don't know about anyone else, and lets set allegiances to one party or another aside for the time being- but does anyone feel this current batch of coalition MP's are just a pack of duds? I'm not talking about anything other than their levels of competence and ambition and vision. It's not about their politics. Just seems to me that for the last few years at least the cupboard has been largely bare of any one willing to do anything .... I feel like we are on cruise control heading nowhere .

I don't know if its that simple. The country isnt in a complete shambles. But it also isnt innovating or evolving and if anyone asked me to explain where Australia is heading, I wouldnt be able to tell them . I guess I just feel like they are so preoccupied with politics rather than good governance , and so beholden to donors and loathe to spend money on anything that might change the status quo , that we have been spinning our wheels for the last decade or so.

I see a country that could be setting itself up as a solar and wind megapower ( excuse the pun) and irrigating the inland to become a food superpower..... and undertaking nation building projects that would allow us to spread out and sustain a larger population and tax base..... but what we get is minute target agendas and endless spin....

I guess I'm just completely disappointed in the quality of this particular generation of pollies...

But how good was the cricket ? :)

Totally agree - governments worldwide seem to be preoccupied with getting re-elected rather than doing what's best for the constituents/voters. I would love to see some of the hard decision made - with proper dialogue with the community to explain why (instead of the closed door sessions).

It frustrates me that the government seems to treat voters like they are stupid, and hence the secrecy, as if they feel we wouldn't understand.

Seriously need some direction to the long term (10-50+ year visions) rather than the current knee-jerking.

Not a fan of the crickets nowadays (to arrogant) - enjoying the tennis

Can't find any information more recent than early 2019, as to how the grant is being spent. They do have a glossy website tho: Our Projects that seems to indicate they are "doing" stuff

Learnt today that McKenzie was the same minister who went around, just prior to the 2019 election, promising un-qualifying council's that they would receive drought assistance funding .... if only they put in an application (which were then knocked back by Littleproud after the election)

So that's two vote bribing rorts

The moment I laid eyes on ScoMo I knew I couldn't trust him. He's a fast talking smart aleck who'd diddle taxpayers out of 20 cents and laugh about it.

I got a boss at work just like him. Well yeah I do occasionally work.
