    Hi.
Anyone challenged a speeding fine because of a miss spelled address? They spelled the town name wrong. Just looking for an angle to save my wife's second last point.

I doubt that'd be suitable grounds.

Was it from a camera? Are you absolutely sure it was her driving at the time and not yourself? ;)

Did she speed? If so losing license is the consequence and maybe she wont lose all her points speeding next time round

If we all challenged them and refused to pay them they would have no power. We get them because collectively we don't stand up to them.

Xenia; you are a vert smart lady, but this statement is stupidity.

Speed limits are there for a good reason; to protect us from ourselves.

How about everyone simply drives at the speed limit, or; cop yer right whack without a whinge when you get pinged?

If you don't like paying speeding fines; bloody slow down.

    It's not hard.

I know someone who was involved in a collision with an undercover cop.

The cop initially tried to finger her for the prang but he was subsequently found to be DUI.

However his case was (conveniently) dismissed without charge because the numbnuts who handled blood samples put the wrong date on them.

I'm not some grubby lawyer trying to get people off - but I doubt that spelling Gosford as Gofsord counts as enough grounds for dismissal (as an example).

    Not a chance.

I'm a habitual small scale speeder but I do it knowingly and only on roads 80+. Never in residential areas. I get a fine I wear it. But hasn't happened in 8 years.

Those that continually get fines because they are not paying attention scare me.

    Agree.

Imagine being stupid enough to not learn to slow down and stop wasting lots of dollars....

If a person knows they are down to 2 points and still speeds, then probably loss of licence is appropriate.

This didn't work for my brother. He has lost his licence at least 4 times for accruing enough demerit points. His have been a combination of speeding and rolling through stop signs. He still speeds and still rolls through stop signs. Some people seem incapable of learning.

o_OI think with these sorts of folks - after losing it twice for demerit point loss; confiscate their car.

Because ya just know; he'll roll through a stop sign one day, and get cleaned up - but it will be some poor innocent kid as a passenger in the other car who dies.

Ask for the photo - it can be front of the car so no denying who was driving.
