I personally think since we are high wage country.
This is the type of tech we should play with. We are never going to be making high volume cars here again.

As wages are not as important due to the high cost of the industry.
Its nice to see government take initiatives that are not focus on welfare but rather the future of the upcoming young generation.
Industry insiders have high hopes for Australia’s space agency

PS even better if its in aerotroplis in Badgerys creek.

I believe it's likely to be in Canberra due to links with the ANU observatory, CSIRO, etc. I think it's great but the government really needs to invest a lot more to get it off the ground properly. $15 million is really peanuts for this kind of work.

I totally agree the NSW gov has to have huge incentives.

The issues is even Google is struggling to find a proper home in Sydney.

The gov should encourage hi tec industries to our state(Australia) not make life difficult.

We need to move away from low tech where we can compete.

We have Skynet in Gero running at 30% capacity with their CRAYs.

No wonder they got the NBN first - my guess will be here.

Also $15m for 20,000 jobs is like $750 each....just sayin'

Hell even in Ireland there's talk of launching a space agency. I see no reason why Australia shouldn't.

Sure.....but don't make it in Sydney.

If Google were serious they would do something ballsy like relocate with a massive campus in Orange NSW or something like that tied into an injection into the local university.

Whats not to love about Orange, great food, great wine, plenty of cheap accommodation etc. If you think it cant be done....go do some web searches on Boulder Colorado and a venture capitalist by the name of Brad Felds.

It just takes balls and vision.

Instead they are trying to the same as every other small tech company in Australia....situate themselves within 10-15 mins of Central station or North Sydney......

On the news here they said adelaide was pleading a case for it. Might be local bias though.

Adelaide would be in with a chance I reckon as the launch site needs to be either on Cape York or the Top End.

If it's the Top End then sending the sattelite/rockets north will be much easier due to the train.

Im bullish for realestate in the Mars planetary area. Despite the high cost of travel it has a great self-sufficient lifestyle, no noisy neighbours and only room for growth from the current land prices..
