Hi experts. Southport 4215 is surprisingly strong for Units (and houses). It looks like a great time to sell at historical highs. Any thoughts?
I bought a one bedroom in Southport in 2018 as a PPOR. It was close to work and I liked being able to walk down to the Broadwater and across to Main Beach, plus use the light rail. I didn't buy it expecting any capital gain at all. The purchase price was $255k, and this was for a large modern one bedroom with a nice big balcony. About the same price you'd pay for a car space in Sydney. I moved out a little while ago and have been renting it out for $375 per week. The rental return is crazy! Apparently the value has increased quite substantially, and the rental could easily fetch $400+ right now. It's a cash cow. It's definitely been a good news story for me, and I guess I'm sharing this because you just never know for sure what is going to do well and when!
