Its just a frustration I wanted to share... I was busy working on my unit, sacrificing my evenings preparing/improving my unit for sale then my partner calls me up late at night and tells me that....:(

You gotta look at this as a business transaction and you can't be soft in business otherwise you get burned. Put down some fair requests and give them a deadline, its up to them to ask friends, family, other banks whatever. If they can't proceed then they learn a hard lesson and you do what you have to do. This is why you need a good broker.

Update.... I wrote to our solicitor.... it turns out we can settle when I want to. He just would not have a secretary that day.

Cant see why my partner was bending over backwards to accommodate my solicitors request... I would have had to change my instructions for my other bank etc because I'd need to move funds earlier...
    Anyway... happy now...

You can probably still pull out if it's becoming that big of a deal.
Sounds like it's a deal breaker for you.
    Pull the plug, move on.

Yeah, buys multi million dollar property and complains about $150 :p
It's like the people who buy a brand new BMW and then complain about service costs

Look after the pennies and pounds will take care of themselves. Gockie I totally get it and have booked my settlements exactly the same way for the same reasons.:D

All the solicitor had to do was to use an agent to attend settlement - $60 usually.
