In a perfect world Id build thermal solar power stations in the outback. Lots of them. and join NT and WA into the national grid. I'd also finish off snowy 2 (i.e the big battery) for rainy days.

I'd make sure to build a few extra so they can generate hydrogen for cars/export.

The amount we wouldn't be spending on coal/gas should cover the interest repayments and solve any potential energy threats we have.

In a perfect world of course....

Split Australia in to two countries wa, nt & wa as one. They will easily become the most wealthy country in the world with all those natural resources. Then the leftist controlled cities of Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide will final learn where Australia’s wealth comes from and need to learn that this is why we have such a way of life

If you are willing to forego the disproportionate allocation of GST revenues......deal. Then you shall see the side on which your bread is actually buttered ;)

Issue 500bn in 30 year bonds and pursue a nation building program that would set Australia up for the next century and beyond... the amount looks large but debt is basically free at the moment

Build high speed rail between SYD and MEL . Stops at Parramatta, Badgerys Creek, Goulburn, Canberra, Wagga, Albury, Shepparton, Melbourne

Tunnel under the Blue Mountains to open up the the Central Western region of NSW. Lithgow, Bathurst , Orange and Dubbo etc.

Build something similar to the Bradfield Scheme . There may be better options that that specific scheme, but the idea would be to capture and harvest the massive amounts of water we currently fail to capture or harvest so that our inland river systems remain fully charged at all times, the great artesian basin remains full at all times, all dams remain full at all times, and more than adequate amounts of water are available to inland regions so that much bigger populations can grow around the centres linked by high speed rail

Create special regional economic zones in places like Bathurst, Orange , Goulburn, Wagga, Albury, Shepparton and provide big tax breaks to encourage businesses to relocate and create industries there . Why cant these areas become a food bowl for the world? Get water there. get fast transport links there. It would allow us to grow our population, grow our tax revenues etc

Look at some kind of comprehensive tax reform. Just off the top of my head- Introduce a tax free threshold of 30K and a flat 20% rate of income tax for anyone earning 30K or more, but increase GST to 20% . NO GST exemptions . ie a flat 20% rate on everything

Build more solar farms and wind farms, and turn Perth into Lithium Valley

On Day 2 I'd consider what to do with inland QLD, the NT, upper WA and SA... The water scheme would already be pretty significant game changer for each of those states - especially Central QLD and far North QLD , but would probably do more high speed rail as well , this time SYD - BRIS. Stops at Newcastle, Port Macquarie, Coffs Harbour, Grafton , Ballina , Gold Coast and Brisbane

On Day 3 I'd have to think about TAS, I guess :)

The real estate has done much better than Sydney or Melbourne in the last two years.

All public holidays are abolished. Sure the Christians can take Christmas if they want and Jews Hanukkah etc etc but these need to be taken out of the extra 2 weeks annual leave allocation. The nation runs 365 days a year. None of those ridiculous 2 week stoppages when all the public holidays happen at once.

And everyone wears a name badge all the time in large font so productive time is not wasted trying to remember some one’s wife’s name.

I would turn the power off & disconnected the internet to the rest of the world. So everyone had to go to bed when the sun went down. Get a good night sleep and wake up at the crack of dawn as happy campers.
