Only read the heading so far and couldn't stop laughing .. .

This whole media incl AFR is bit of a joke

 

I am still having my daily smashed avocado and still can’t afford to buy property, even thought prices have dropped 20% .

So, it is NOT a distant memory for me, still feeling the pain .

Maybe, things will be easier when prices drop 40%, especially for property .

 

Reduce expectation
Or
Increase income

There is a third option - move regionally

Have the best damn house you can think of for a much much more affordable price. Regional Australian life is life on easy mode.

If housing is approaching afforability then they could add a 16 dollar coffee to their order of smashed avo.

Nice. I wonder if anyone has done a study on Aussie spending on coffee vs alcohol? I always thought there should be a market for way overpriced coffee like there is for overpriced wine

I don't spend any more money on wine each week than my hubby spends in the city on his coffees.

 

I think APRA has had the desired effect in reducing the cost of Avocados so that FHB can save for a home and still enjoy a good breakfast.

And free from smelly hipsters riding fixies and sitting on milk crates.

They should have a royal commission into what proportion of income the average tradie spends on over priced crap at the servo every week
