Wow. These guys are the biggest players in QLD and they are not taking any more client's effective immediately. They have 70 staff who found out last night that their positions are about to no longer exist.

For anyone who is using them and worried then my firm - Certus Legal Group's Certus Conveyancing Lawyers are offering to take over their matters at no extra cost. Whatever you have spent with CW/Slaters then we will take that amount of our bill at settlement.

I knew they were losing money but I am absolutely stunned.

I can only like it once but wish I could like it more (not the S&G part).

Nice to see you guys helping out individuals and good bit of PR.

Hope it is a smooth transition for the people and that you get a lot of extra business in the future.

Some pretty epic capital destruction there, remind me again why lawyers are a profession exempt from LMI on loans up to 90%? ;)

In Victoria, Slater & Gordon Conveyancing and my firm are among a handful who provide unlimited free contract reviews prior to purchase.

Happy to assist Slaters' Victorian clients, starting with a no obligation chat.

    Interesting to hear.
Does that mean the handful is even smaller now Slater and Gordon aren't doing it any more?

Hi Kate, is it confirmed that S & G Conveyancing is pulling out of Victorian market?

What happens to all of the staff who were working on that? Do they get moved on to something else... or just moved on?

I doubt the other teams can fully absorb all 70 or more.

I use a settlement agent / lawyer who offers that as part of the service.

Had a client use S&G for a QLD purchase and the feedback was not positive.

Good. can use the extra work as I'm thinking of getting another conveyancer on. From memory they paid good money for Conveyancing Works. Did the same with Trilby Misso (personal injuries) and proceeded to deactivate the name which had a lot of goodwill built up over 15 plus years.

I hated dealing with SG conveyancing- always left things to the last minute, never returned calls etc.
    Hopefully a return to normality.
