    Hi

Still learning this stuff so this may seem like a silly question.

We are going over the extra's of a house that we are going to build as an investment property

Things like extra lights etc... for example is it worth not worrying about the "nice to have" fixtures and fittings or worth it in the long run for tax benefits with depreciartion

I would say forget doing anything for the tax benefits. Think of how much value it will or won't add to the property.

Except investing in the Australian film industry when there's 120% investment allowance.

Only if the film works. Then returns are greater. Film is like music and race horses.
